How it works
Take control in three steps
Every place you pay gets its own card, and you decide what each card can do.
- Merchant-lockedOnly this merchant can charge the card.
- EverywhereUse across merchants, within the limits you set.
- Category-lockedUse only at merchants in a category you choose.
- Single-useOne approved purchase, then the card closes.
Create a card
Make a virtual card for one store, a category like groceries, anywhere you shop, or a single purchase.

Link your bank
Connect a bank account to your card once. It pays for each charge the card approves, so there’s no balance to top up.

Card types
A card for every need
If one is ever exposed, close it and make a new one. Every other card keeps working as if nothing happened.
For subscriptions and the stores you trust
Merchant-locked
Only this merchant can charge the card.
- One card per subscription. If one company is breached, close just that card.
- A price hike you didn’t agree to goes over your monthly limit and is declined.
- Each card carries the merchant’s name, so you always know which one to close.
Features
Every card, fully in your control
Pick a feature and try it on the phone.
A new card in a few taps
Choose what the card is for, where it works and how much it can spend. Its number is ready the moment it’s created.
- Four card types: Merchant-locked, Everywhere, Category-locked and Single-use.
- Limits per purchase, per month or in total.
- Each card has its own number, so a leak on one never affects the others.
Try creating one on the phone.

Subscription management
One place for all your subscriptions
Add the subscriptions you pay for and give each its own card. See what they cost each month, what’s due next, and anything that needs a look.
- Expected monthly cost and every payment due in the next 30 days.
- Reminders before a renewal or a free trial ends.
- A heads-up when a charge doesn’t match what you expected.
- Pausing a subscription’s card blocks the next charge. Cancelling the plan is always done with the merchant.

Meet Casper
Control your privacy in simpler, everyday language
Tell Casper what you want, the way you’d say it out loud. You get a clear answer, and nothing changes until you approve it.
You: My son’s been spending way too much on his card. Can we cap it at fifty bucks a month?
Casper: Here’s your son’s card at CAD $50 a month. It shows Son’s card with the spending limit changing from CAD $25 per day to CAD $50 per month. After you approve: Limit updated.
You: how much can I still spend on my everyday card this month?
Casper: $287.60 left, until it resets Nov 1. It shows the Everyday card: $212.40 spent of $500.00.
You: I’m trying to budget my money. Can this card only work for groceries?
Casper: Here’s a new card that only works at grocery stores. It shows a new Groceries card: card type category-locked, works at grocery stores only. After you approve: Card created. Other stores are declined.
You: did spotify go up?? feels like it’s costing me more
Casper: Yes. Spotify charged $13.99 last time, $2.00 more than you expected. It shows Spotify at $13.99, up from $11.99.
You: I don’t really trust the site I ordered from last night. Can you turn off my online shopping card for now?
Casper: This pauses your Online shopping card until you resume it. It shows the Online shopping card going from active to paused. After you approve: Card paused. New charges are declined.
You: ok what am I paying more than ten bucks a month for?
Casper: Two subscriptions, $30.48 a month together. It shows Netflix at $16.49 a month and Spotify at $13.99 a month.

Join waitlist(opens in a new tab)What is PhantomPay?
PhantomPay is a Canadian platform for managing your payment credentials. Instead of giving every store the same card details, you give each one its own virtual card, with its own number, rules and limit.
You can pause, replace or close any of those cards in a tap, without touching the others.
What is a virtual card?
A card that exists only digitally: a card number, expiry date and security code you use to pay online, like any other card. With PhantomPay, each one also has the rules you set, such as where it works and how much it can spend.
How is PhantomPay different from Apple Pay and mobile wallets?
Apple Pay and other mobile wallets keep your card number private at checkout by swapping it for a token. That protects the moment you pay, but it doesn’t let you decide what each merchant can do afterwards: there’s no limit per store, and no way to cut off one merchant without affecting the rest.
PhantomPay takes that privacy idea and turns it into a way to manage your payments. Every place you pay gets its own virtual card with its own limit, and you can pause, replace or close it whenever you want.
Is it only for subscriptions?
No. Subscriptions are one way to use it. You can also make a card for a single store, for a category like groceries, for anywhere you shop, or for one single purchase.
If I pause or close a card, is my subscription cancelled?
No. Pausing or closing a card stops new charges on that card, but your plan with the merchant stays active, and you may still owe what you agreed to pay.
To cancel a subscription, cancel it with the merchant, for example in your Netflix account.
What happens to a refund on a card I already closed?
It still finds its way back to you. A refund follows the purchase it’s for, so it returns through the same virtual card even after you’ve closed it.
How long it takes, and exactly where the money lands, depends on the rules of the bank that issues our cards, which we’ll share before launch.
What happens when something looks suspicious?
PhantomPay checks each card’s activity for patterns like rapid repeated attempts or tiny test charges. You choose what happens next: get an alert, have the high-risk charge declined, or have the card paused automatically.
Your card rules still decide every charge, whichever you choose.
Can I use PhantomPay yet?
PhantomPay is built, and we’re finishing the integration with our banking partner. We’re opening soon, starting with the waitlist. Join it and we’ll let you know as soon as you can start.
How much will it cost?
We’ll share pricing before launch. Joining the waitlist is free.
