  • Right now, the only personal information we collect is the email address you give us to join the waitlist.
  • We use it to tell you about PhantomPay and to invite you when access opens. We never sell it or use it for advertising.
  • This website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking. You can ask us to delete your email at any time.
  1. Who we are

    PhantomPay (“PhantomPay”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a Canadian company based in Toronto, Ontario, building a platform for managing payment credentials through virtual cards.

    This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information through phantompay.ca (the “Site”) and our waitlist. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other privacy laws that apply to us.

  2. What this policy covers

    This policy covers the Site and the PhantomPay waitlist only. The PhantomPay app and its virtual cards are not yet available to the public, and no accounts, cards or payments are handled through the Site.

    Before the PhantomPay service launches, we will publish an updated privacy policy that covers it, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires.

  3. Information we collect

    Information you give us. When you join the waitlist, you give us your email address. If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.

    Information collected automatically. The Site does not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels or any other tracking technology. Like any website, it is delivered by a hosting provider, which processes standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit, so the Site can load and stay secure.

    Information we do not collect. Through the Site, we do not collect payment card numbers, bank account details, government identification or any other financial information.

  4. How we use your information

    We use your email address to:

    • send you updates about PhantomPay and its launch;
    • invite you to start using PhantomPay when access opens;
    • reply to questions or requests you send us;
    • keep the Site and our waitlist secure and prevent abuse.

    We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

  5. How we share your information

    We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the Site and the waitlist, and only as much as they need to do that work:

    • Buildform, which provides our waitlist form and stores the email addresses submitted through it;
    • Vercel, which hosts and delivers the Site;
    • Google, which provides the email service we use to contact you and receive your messages.

    These providers are bound by their own privacy and security commitments, and may only use your information to provide their services to us.

    We may also disclose personal information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, property or safety of PhantomPay or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, in which case the information would remain protected by this policy.

  6. Where your information is stored

    Our service providers may store and process personal information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country under its laws.

  7. How long we keep it

    We keep your email address while you are on the waitlist and for as long as we need it to invite you to PhantomPay. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or once we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

  8. How we protect it

    We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information we hold, and limit access to the people who need it to run the waitlist. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident, including notifying you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada where the law requires.

  9. Your rights

    You can ask us to:

    • tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
    • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
    • delete your information, or stop contacting you.

    Write to us at the address below. We will answer within 30 days, and may need to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

  10. Children

    The Site and our waitlist are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

  11. Changes to this policy

    We may update this policy as PhantomPay grows. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and if a change is significant, we will tell people on the waitlist by email before it takes effect.

  12. Contact us
